EXHIBIT DESIGN AT BEMIDJI STATE UNIVERSITY
BEMIDJI, MINNESOTA

Bemidji State University offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Design Technology with a specialization in Exhibit Design.  The program is interdisciplinary with students taking courses in both Visual Arts and Design Technology.

Courses are constructed with a blending of theory and practical application as students become adept in visual and interpersonal communication, experiential design, 3-D design modeling and rendering skills, and face-to-face marketing concepts.

Students learn to work independently and as part of teams that design all facets of environments including: tradeshow exhibits, museums and educational exhibitions, point-of-purchase displays and retail environments.

Bemidji State University is at the forefront of Exhibit Design education being one of the only places in the country to offer a four-year degree, laying the foundation for a career in exhibit and experiential design.

FIRST STUDENT CHAPTER OF EDPA

We are proud that Bemidji State University’s Exhibit Design Club is the first student chapter of EDPA. It is a University-recognized student organization and each year is made up of over 30 student members. The club participates in regional and national industry visits, hosts industry guest speakers and participates in the EXHIBITOR Conference and Show each year. The Club members use these experiences as an extension to their classroom learning.

FASHION INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY (FIT)
SCHOOL OF GRADUATE STUDIES,
NEW YORK, NEW YORK

FIT’s Master of Arts program in Exhibition Design integrates everything from interior design to architecture, lighting to graphic design, and industrial design to exhibit production.  Communication and teamwork skills are also an intrinsic part of the curriculum. The core belief of the Graduate Studies program is that exhibition designers are storytellers, and that design should be message-driven.

The Exhibition Design program is 36 credits of coursework, much of it studio-driven, with projects conducted directly with patron museums, design firms, and trade venues.

Our students are multi-faceted designers whose artistry and technical skills shape the spaces of museums, expos, public and retail spaces, and more.
