The Exhibit Designers and Producers Association announced the winners of the inaugural Zero Waste Challenge at the annual EDPA Access event in December. EDPA launched the Zero Waste Challenge to harness its members’ creative energy, recognize innovation and share the best ideas for reducing the industry’s impact on the environment. EDPA challenged members to produce great exhibit projects that improve sustainability by reducing waste, both in the shop and on the show floor. read full article

CEIR Releases Update of How the Exhibit Dollar is Spent Report – Sponsored by EDPA and 6 Member Companies

Netherlands-based Gielissen Holding B.V. acquired Nuance International Inc. in 2011 as part of its worldwide expansion in the trade show, interiors, and event industries. Since that time, the Nuance International brand remained in place for the US market. However, the US operation will now become known as Gielissen Interiors & Exhibitions. read full article
During the late afternoon on August 19 the DSL Group of Companies (Display Supply & Lighting, Inc. and Color Kinetics Distribution, Inc.) took the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.
The DSL team took the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge to honor the memory of Dennis Hale a long time friend and employee of CORT Tradeshow Furnishings and to honor the courageous battle being fought by another friend Michael Westcott, a long time industry veteran.read full article

The EDPA RFP Certification Program was launched earlier this year in response to an industry survey of corporate trade show exhibitors that revealed a desire for more transparency and consistency during the RFP process. Research conducted with the assistance of Exhibit Surveys to Corporate Exhibitors proved there “was unanimous enthusiasm for the concept of an EDPA “Good Housekeeping Seal” that would prescreen exhibit house vendors on the basis of business integrity, capabilities and operational practices. Such a certification would even be a consideration in RFP and RFQ processes read full article

EDPA members in good standing are eligible to apply for certification. If the criteria are satisfied, member companies are certified by IComply, a division of BPA Worldwide, (all data submitted is kept CONFIDENTIAL). The certification provides written assurance that the company meets the standards and practices approved by the EDPA. To achieve certification, the member company submits formal documentation along with the application. Once a member receives the EDPA RFP Certification, renewal will be required to maintain their status in the EDPA RFP Certification Directory, annually. read full article
EDPA has named a new President of the EDPA Board, Jay Burkette who is a 30-year industry veteran. Jay, vice president of Birmingham, Ala.-based ExpoDisplays, has always been very involved in the EDPA and over the past couple of years has put his efforts into building and retaining members as the VP of Member Services. read full article
