The Upper Midwest Chapter of EDPA is excited to present its Annual Fall Education and Networking Event "Selling to Big Companies" on Tuesday, October 9th.
One of today's leading sales training professionals, author Jill Konrath will present a dynamic workshop based on her best-selling book. Jill's experience in working with the exhibit and designer producer market will allow her to customize her presentation - designed to show you proven techniques for getting appointments with corporate decision-makers.

EDPA President, Derek Gentile will be speaking at the Upper Midwest Chapter Meeting on Wednesday, January 10. The meeting will be held at the Doubletree Hotel in St Louis Park, MN with cocktails/networking from 5:30 - 6:30pm and dinner and the program from 6:30 - 9:00pm.
Derek will be sharing his thoughts on the "State of the Association" along with his vision for the EDPA over the next year. He'll also be walking us through a part of the Economic Survey.

The Upper Midwest EDPA's 31st Annual Golf Tournament is being held at Eagle Valley Golf Course in Woodbury on Monday, July 10th, 2006. This years format will be a best ball "Scramble". All players will choose the best shot of the group and shoot from that location (including putts). The event fee includes 18 holes of golf, golf car rental, complementary practice range use and bag handling.
Check-in is at 11:15 a.m. with a Shotgun Start at noon. Event Fees are, Golf/Barbecue Dinner $120.00 per person, Golf Only $90.00 per person, and Barbecue Dinner Only $40.00 per person.

On January 11th, Susan Brauer, CES, UMEDPA Chapter President, opened the meeting with an overview of the chapter plans and activities for 2005. A meeting with a review of Design Trends From Euro shop ’05 will be the April meeting, tentatively scheduled for April 12, a Golf outing tentatively scheduled for July 12 and a Supplier Showcase for the fall.
Mark Johnson, Star Exhibits, National EDPA President, gave a very interesting overview of the Strategic Plan developed by the National EDPA Executive Committee. This was accompanied by a very strong request that all attending members get involved with the local and national association. Pete Dicks, Executive Director of the national EDPA, gave a brief overview of the Annual Custom Exhibit House Economic survey.

On April 20th the Upper Midwest Chapter will be hosting speaker Greg D. Ortale,
President and Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Minneapolis Convention &
Visitors Association. The Greater Minneapolis Convention and Visitors Association
(GMCVA) is a destination marketing organization that promotes Minneapolis as a
convention and trade show venue and desirable tourist destination. Attendees will
be hearing Mr. Ortale’s observations on the local convention and event market,
the exciting recent developments in local venue growth and how the Minneapolis
St. Paul market compares to other meeting and event cities in the US.
The event will be held at the Doubletree Park Place Hotel on Highway 100 &
394, St. Louis Park, Minnesota. Cocktail hour will be held for an hour beginning
at 5 p.m., followed by an hour dinner from 6-7 p.m. and the program lasting until
