The Midwest chapter of EDPA is excited to announce their upcoming Green meeting. Some topics to be discussed include: How big is this trend, Does it cost more, and Are our clients willing to pay the price to be green? Everything that goes into an exhibit, including: carpet, lighting, laminate, graphics, transportation, labor, etc. make the products we sell more or less environmentally friendly. What purchasing resources are available to the trade show industry to help us in this effort?

The EDPA Chicago Chapter met on February 28 with a record turnout of 94 attendees. Dan Greene, EDPA Chapter president said “We could not be more pleased to with the level of interest and enthusiasm expressed by our chapter members. Moving to a larger facility was a risk that paid off.” The meeting was opened by Dan Greene, John Otten (EDPA National President), Carol Fojtek (Exhibitor Show Manager), and Larry Kulchawik (IFES President).
Otten shared the direction of EDPA for 2006 and stressed the importance of supporting the FIT Exhibit Designer Masters Degree program. Carol Fojtek raffled off a free pass to the Exhibitors Show and promoted the benefits of attending this year’s show. Larry Kulchawik shared the focus of IFES in 2006 and asked the audience to consider attending this year’s annual meeting June 22-23 in Madrid. EDPA offers a package plan. Kulchawik also asked companies to participate in this years Exhibiting Show, June 28-29 in London as exhibitors, and be part of the North American pavilion.
Dan Greene then introduced Richard Farrell, vice president of Selling Dynamics. Farrell held the attention of the audience by stating “ the Value Propositions you offer are Valueless if change does not create a meaningful advantage for the customer. We as exhibit sales people must act as agents for meaningful change for the prospects we encounter”.
The Chicago Chapter will host its first meeting on "Increasing Sales in 2006" on Tuesday, February 28th. For more information, contact Dan Greene at dgreene@metroexhibit.com.
