We very excited to announce our newest member to the UMEDPA Board, Mark Bendickson of exhibitdesign. Mark will join in the role of Secretary. Mark has a long history with both the UMEDPA Chapter and the EDPA Foundation. We look forward to his service and input in guiding and growing our chapter.

Spring Meeting at Target Field – Private Tour and Baseball Game!
*UPDATE 4/48/12: The Upper Midwest EDPA Chapter will be hosting it’s spring meeting at Target Field to see the Twins take on the Angels on May 7th. The meeting also includes a tour of Target field before the game starts. Join us for the UMEDPA Spring Meeting at Target Field on Monday, May 7th for a behind-the-scenes tour of the stadium and exhibits, guided by Twins curator Clyde Doepner. You’ll see areas of the ballpark guests normally don’t see. In addition to the exhibit and display aspect of the tour, you’ll learn how Clyde records the history of the gamea nd its special defining moments. Which Twin hit the 2st home run in Target Field? How did Clyde obtain the ball? Come hear the story!
RSVP by February 16. The tour is limited to the first 40 members that sign up! Tours are limited to 20 people at a time, so there will be two groups of tours: the first begining at 5:30pm and the second at 6:15pm.
Following the tour, there will be time to enoy the surroundings of Target Field with fellow UMEDPA membesr, then stay for the game.
Cost is $49 for members, includes the tour, a ticket to the Twins game at 7pm agains the Los Angeles Angels, and a $20 credit good for food, befverages or sourvenirs at the ballpark.

UMEDPA January Meeting at Alexander’s Mobility Services

RSVP Today! On Monday, January 16th, the UMEDPA’s Janaury Meeting will convene at Alexander’s Mobility Services, 2811 Beverly Drive, Suite 100, in Eagan, Minnesota.
Cam Stevens, President of EDPA National, will present results from EDPA’s Pulse Survey and highlights from the EDPA ACCESS 2011 Conference, and will also address the Association’s plans for the coming year.
We will also tour the facilities at Alexander’s Mobility Services, including a semi on display, the warehouse/office, and an overview of their shipping and inventory management system.

Fifty members of the the Upper Midwest EDPA Chapter gathered together on May 7 for a great night of baseball at Target Field to watch the Twins take on the Angels. The EDPA Upper Midwest Chapter will hold its 42nd Annual Summer Golf Tournament at the Eagle Valley Golf Course on Monday, July 18th.A Portion of the Proceeds to Benefit the EDPA Foundation
The 42nd Annual UMEDPA Golf Tournament is being held at Eagle Valley Golf Course in Woodbury on Monday, July 18th. www.eaglevalleygc.com. The Golf Tournament is one of the highlights of the UMEDPA Chapter’s yearlong activities and features a four-person scramble format followed by a barbeque dinner.
Check in is at 11:15 am with a shot-gun start at Noon. A social hour and cash bar will immediately follow as participants finish their rounds. The BBQ dinner will begin at 5:30 pm featuring door prizes and awards for team scores and individual men’s and women’s events.
The event fee of $125 includes 18 holes of golf, cart rental, complimentary practice range and bag handling, plus dinner. Golf only is $100; dinner only is $40. Tee sponsorships are available for $100.

Our featured speakers for the evening will be Varadarajan V. Chari, professor of economics at the University of Minnesota; and Rob Cohen, President of the EDPA, who will present highlights from the 2010 EDPA Economic Survey and address the Association’s plans for the coming year.

2010 News
The Upper Midwest Chapter of the EDPA held its Spring Meeting on Tuesday, April 13th, at TCF Bank Stadium on the Twin Cities Campus of the University of Minnesota. Fifty-five attendees from twenty-three companies convened for a networking-cocktail hour, followed by a dinner and short program. The evening event included a behind-the-scenes tour of the stadium (completed in 2009) and exclusive access to the playing field, locker rooms and presidential suite. As part of the event, chapter members were also invited to display their logo and message on the fourth largest video board in all of college football. Designed and built by Daktronics, the video board is 48 feet high by 108 feet wide and includes Daktronics’ HD-X light-emitting diode (LED) technology.
Speakers for the event included Mike Coffrin, Partner, Podium Sports Marketing, who spoke about the process of collaborating with the stadium’s architects and his company’s responsibility for the production and installation of the large format graphics. Also featured was Dr. Bonnie Higgins, Associate Professor, Department of Technological Studies, at Bemidji State University, and Amanda Lembke, Graduate Assistant, who spoke about the EDPA University Affiliation Program.

Upper Midwest Chapter To Tour TCF Bank Stadium
The Upper Midwest Chapter of the EDPA will be holding its Spring Meeting on Tuesday, April 13th, at TCF Bank Stadium on the Twin Cities Campus of the University of Minnesota. The event starts at 5:30 p.m. and will begin with a networking-cocktail hour, followed by a dinner and short program. It will conclude with a “Behind-the-Scenes” Tour of TCF Bank Stadium, Home of the University of Minnesota’s Golden Gophers Football Team. Cost is $40 for members, and $55 for nonmembers. Upper Midwest Chapter Holds Winter Meeting
The Upper Midwest Chapter of the EDPA would like to thank all who attended the Upper Midwest Exhibit Designers and Producers Winter meeting on January 12th, at the Skyline International Design Center.
Nearly sixty industry professionals turned out to hear newly elected EDPA President John Rose present highlights from the 2009 EDPA Economic Survey, and address the Association plans for the coming year. Attendees also heard a presentation from Mark Kuehl of EXHIBITOR Media Group, who presented EXHIBITOR magazine’s 2010 Economic Outlook Survey.
A big “Thank You!” was also offered to Mr. Mike Vekich, Executive Chairman of Skyline, for his hospitality, welcome address and facility tour .
In other news, Tom Trutna, President of BIG INK Display Graphics has joined the UMEDPA Board of Directors.
The next meeting of the UMEDPA will be April 13th; details to follow.
