Donors Sought for Blood Drive
The Las Vegas Chapter of EDPA is sponsoring a blood drive in the name of Tim Provo from November 16-19, 2009. For those of you who are not aware, Tim was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia back in July. While he is expected to make a full recovery, the Las Vegas chapter of EDPA wanted to do something that would allow us all to show Tim our support.
While this started as a local Las Vegas initiative, the response from friends, family and colleagues across the country has been overwhelming. Based on the areas we have received interest from, the Las Vegas Chapter of EDPA has worked with several of those local blood donation centers to allow everyone to contribute. For a list of locations, just drop us an email at edpa_lv@yahoo.com. Please keep in mind that you'll need to make an appointment to donate regardless of the location.
Everyone who donates will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a 32" LCD TV courtesy of Sharp Electronics. IMPORTANT: If you are not part of the Las Vegas donation, please e-mail your name as well as the date and location of your donation to arosen@elements-exhibits.com in order to be entered in the contest.
For those of you who donate in Las Vegas, in addition to being entered into the LCD drawing, you will also receive a coupon for a free pastry from Dunkin' Donuts. We are also excited to confirm the following van locations in addition to being able to donate at a local UBS facility. If you would like to make arrangements to have a van come to your facility, a member of the Las Vegas EDPA Chapter board would be happy to help you coordinate this! You just need to have a minimum of 20 people willing to donate at that location. The vans will be staged per the following (please note you still need to make an appointment with the contact at each facility if you choose this method):

The drinks (non-alcoholic for those who donate), appetizers and atmosphere will run from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. If you are not a member of EDPA, please RSVP to arosen@elements-exhibits.com. EDPA Las Vegas Chapter Announces Fall Plans
The Las Vegas Chapter has an exciting fall planned, so be sure to save these future dates:
In October we’ll be hosting a special panel discussion at The Orleans, where we’ll explore “Creative Solutions in A Recovering Economy” with guest panelists from various industries (our exhibit & event clients). More details will follow soon on how you may submit your questions and for specific times and date of this meeting. We welcome any volunteers who would like to get involved with this as well.
Our November event will the first of its kind for us, and special to say the least. We will be holding a blood drive the week of November 16th, with the closing reception/mixer at Elements Exhibits on Friday, November 20th. Please join us to honor of one of our members, Tim Provo; who has been in the exhibit industry for 26 years, having worked at companies such as Exhibitgroup and MC2 over the course of his career. In July of this year, while in St. Louis for an event, he was diagnosed with a rare type of leukemia. He was forced to stay in the hospital there for a month to begin treatment before returning home to Las Vegas. He is currently doing very well and continues to receive monthly chemo treatments. He will receive a bone marrow transplant in early 2010. He is expected to make a full recovery. Tim and his company, Element Exhibits, have been strong supporters of our organization, as well as the national organization, and we would like to make sure he knows he and his family are in our thoughts and prayers. More details will follow on how you can donate blood even if you cannot make one of location sites and be a part of this.
The December meeting is tentatively scheduled to be a holiday party & awards dinner, co-joined with the EACA Las Vegas Chapter at Alexis Park Resort Hotel on Harmon, in Las Vegas, across from the Hard Rock Hotel. We will offer sponsorships and more details will come soon regarding this wonderful fun-filled night in the coming weeks.
