EDPA Presents CEIR President and CEO Doug Ducate, CEM, CMP With Highly Coveted Hazel Hays Award

The Hazel Hays Award -- the highest honor bestowed by The Exhibit Designers & Producers Association (EDPA) –– was presented to Doug Ducate, of CEIR at AC&SS 2007 in Marco Island, FL. The award is presented annually to an individual in recognition for distinguished achievement and/or significant contribution to the exhibit and trade show industry.
The award was established in 1976 to honor the memory of Hazel Hays, known as "The First Lady of the exhibit industry," who was an industry pioneer and rendered outstanding service to EDPA and the industry as a whole.
"I am very proud to receive this honor from EDPA," said Mr. Ducate. "Being selected for the Hazel Hays Award is especially meaningful because of the high esteem in which I hold EDPA members as the premier marketers and champions of the exhibition industry. I am truly humbled to receive this prestigious award and to join the group of highly distinguished past recipients."
Mr. Ducate has now received an unprecedented five major industry awards from four different organizations in the industry. He has received The Pinnacle Award (formerly the William Hunt Eisenman Award) in 1993 and the Distinguished Service Award in 1988 from the International Association of Exhibitions and Events; the Distinguished Service Award from the Trade Show Exhibitors Association in 2003; and induction into the Convention Industry Council's Hall of Leaders in 1995.
The Hazel Hays Award criteria include significant contributions to the knowledge and literature of the exhibit industry; the design or invention of material, equipment, processes or technical services; or outstanding service to associations, companies and other organizations serving the exhibit industry.
EDPA annually invites nominations from the industry at large. The nominee is not required to be an EDPA member.
EDPA members include exhibit designers/producers, systems manufacturers/marketers, show service contractors, and exhibit transportation companies and other organizations that provide services or products to the exhibit industry. Founded in 1955, EDPA is committed to being the leading trade show marketing services association in the exhibit industry. Its objective is to serve organizations that provide exhibits and related services to the exhibitor in order to maximize their trade show marketing programs.
